Innovation and Ideas - Stage 1 - Ideas form

Welcome to the ideas form for the City of Sydney Innovation and ideas grants program.

Before submitting a funding application you have the option of submitting your idea or concept for feedback from City of Sydney staff.

The ideas form.

This form allows you to pitch your idea and receive feedback on how to develop your project, identify partners and choose the best grants program.  This is not an assessment for funding and positive feedback doesn’t guarantee funding.

It is not compulsory to complete an ideas form, you may go straight to applying for funding.

Steps for attaining feedback

• submit this form outlining your idea.
• our specialist team members will review your pitch.
• you will receive feedback about how to develop your project, partners you should work with and your best options for funding.

The ideas form should be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the upcoming Summer (February) or Winter (July) rounds. 

Application forms for funding are submitted separately and will be available when funding rounds open in February and July each year.

• Please read the Innovation and Ideas webpage and Grants and sponsorship program guidelines for comprehensive details about the program, including the definitions of eligible applicants.
• Strong ideas will align with one of the following: the City's social sustainability policy, environmental strategy and action plan, cultural policy, economic development strategy or open strategy and action plan 

These organisations can apply for an Innovation and Ideas grant, so consider this before submitting an ideas form:

• Eligible Not For Profit Organisation
• Incorporated Association
• Corporation
• Co-operative
• Trustee of a Trust

For-profit organisations are required to match funding with cash and/or value-in-kind when applying for a grant.
