Welcome to the City of Sydney’s online grant application service for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collaboration fund, powered by SmartyGrants.

This program supports a strong and sustainable local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled sector to deliver projects that meet the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local area. Funding supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through projects, programs and activities. Funding is available up to $50,000.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collaboration fund is only available to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, groups and organisations. Our funding will prioritise projects that deliver positive outcomes and meet the needs and aspirations of local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.

All applicants will need to demonstrate that you have support for your project from local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, groups and organisations located within the City of Sydney local government area. Letters of support with your application are encouraged.

Click here to view the grant program guidelines.

Applications for this program are open all year or until the budget is exhausted.

All grant recommendations are approved by Council. Below are the timeframes for submitting a grant application and suggested project start dates based on Council meeting dates. Please consider this table when listing your project 'start date'.

There is usually a three month turn around from when you submit your application to when you are notified. You can consider applying for a Quick Response Grant if the activity is urgent, which is open to not-for-profit organisations, or individuals/community groups without an ABN when auspiced by a not-for-profit organisation.
